I worked very hard over the last year for GMAT. Unfortunately I was barely able to cross the 600+ mark. The results were dismal compared to the labour that I had put in. This has shattered my confidence. However, I have picked myself up and plan to give it another try this year. I need some sure-success mantra.

I don’t think you should listen to my advice, but I’m just putting it out there. For me, what really helped my grammar was learning foreign languages (spanish, latin). I don’t know why, but after learning foreign languages, English grammar just clicked. Grammar was never really hard for me, but it helped on the technical stuff (eg: naming tenses).
So yea…most people probably wouldn’t go to such extreme measures as learning a whole new language to improve their grammar. Maybe pick up a book or something?
Are you just really bad at grammar or is it your second language?
