Improved SAT score by 50 points but still not satisfied

I have somewhat good news. In December 2017, I took the SAT and got an 1130 (580 RW, 550 Math). Retook it on March 10th and got an 1180 (610 RW, 570 Math). I am very happy I improved, however I don’t feel satisfied. Before I go further, I will admit that I did not study for either one. Now, I am beginning to realize that studying is a big deal. Today I bought the Princeton Review “How to Crack the SAT” Premium Edition study guide. Will this be enough to carry me up to a 1200-1250? Do I really need a tutor if I expect to improve to an even higher score?

By the way, I plan to take my next SAT in May.

You need discipline, not a tutor. Practice enough and you’ll find your own way around the testing labyrinth. The college board blue book + khan academy + princeton review book and extensive review of incorrect responses will suffice. I suggest purchasing the blue book because it’s made directly by the SAT wizards.

Erica Meltzer’s books are great for EBRW, and PWN the SAT for math.

Practice tests are the way to go!
