<p>Through freshman year and first semester sophmore year, I accumulated three Cs. (Most of the rest are As). If I have improve my grades all-around, and have no Cs on the rest of my transcript, will the improvement help cancel out the Cs?</p>
<p>It definitely helps. It is not as good as having good grades all the way through, but it is <em>much</em> better than a downward trend or stagnant mediocre grades.</p>
<p>Colleges like to see upward trends - many people mature, learn, whatever throughout high school. Individual improvement is a positive attribute.</p>
<p>Not to say that it’s better than maintaining stellar grades throughout…</p>
<p>It will help particularly if it is backed up by your scores.</p>
