i know the word limit on essays was already answered, but i emailed the admissions committee because my essays were each 100 words past the word limit, and they said they wouldn’t even, “bat an eye” at an extra hundred words.
Omg, I thought going over the word limit by even 1 was gonna be a disqualification so I condensed mine to be exactly the limit…
@yka101 100 words is definitely excessive, you are adding 20% more which is quite a lot.

@theeedog in comparison to everyone on here, i feel like my app is less than average…i don’t have a lot ecs because competitive kickboxing kind of takes up all my time, but i did do science fair 7th/8th grade and reached state, took all the highest level classes and got a 4.5 (or 4.0 unweighted) gpa this semester, had strong essays imo, and am confident about sat scores/teacher recs. i’m not sure though, because a lot of people on here have SO much stuff, so i’m not feeling as confident anymore. i do have a lot of awards for kickboxing though, hopefully that helps out a bit (probably not)
