Are any of you attending the Online Informational Meeting tonight? (For IMSA)
@priyaluvsbooks They are probably going to repeat a lot of stuff. However they do usually have a QA so we should think of all of good questions now so we can get some real info out of them.
@kidfood @AviSaxena33 I SEE YOUR NAMES
woah haha i just had a mini heart attack as it wouldn’t let me in, but i sorted it out now haha
hope the presentation tells us some new info
@priyaluvsbooks What? I’m not even in the meeting?!
@AviSaxena33 ohhh IDK i saw AV so assumed it was you
@priyaluvsbooks Yeah I didn’t join this one cause I assumed it’d be repeats of the same thing cause I was in all the others and it was the same info, but if you find something interesting or unique in this one do tell at the end if you will.
I updated the clock to match the letter mailings. I was so close, I had May 12th, but it’s May 15th.
wow, they answered 4/5 of my questions! last time they answered none haha
did anyone learn anything new though? i feel like when i go to these online meetings, almost everything presented is stuff i’ve read on the website. if anyone caught something new/important, please put it here!
@yeldarb1 Did you hear the part about the optional physics test and like placing into physics or going to bio? Why can’t you just take chemistry, it seems kind of weird because when will you be able to take chem?
wont that look bad on college apps tho? Like taking biology twice?
Not just bad on college apps, but biology, in my opinion, is so boring. I’d take chem or physics over biology any day as in I’d rather memorize mathematical formulas and chemical formulas than bio terms.
@AviSaxena33 Exactly.
idk, i mean we’ve already taken it- so itd prob be really easy
@priyaluvsbooks This is IMSA science, not your normal course. I doubt it will be a walk in the park.
@AviSaxena33 I completely agree with you. I hate it how some colleges want you to take it even if you are applying for engineering.
If you guys are interested, MITCourseware have started courses for high school in preparation of finals or for an AP exam in May. They seem to be very helpful for review or a not-so-crash crash course.
@kidfood Ikr. The only “fun” and actually hands on unit so far has been genetics with the crosses and punnet squares and what not.
At IMSA, you take Chemistry, Physics, Biology, as well as MSI all in the same year. They’re each one semester long and you take two per semester. You can test out of Physics and Chemistry, but Biology and MSI are mandatory.
@jxuwyrm wait… so you take all four classes in a year? I see. That way it doesn’t look bad on college apps either…
How many classes do you have every day? Isn’t it a rotating schedule?
