Do they compare 8th grade essays to freshman essays? (if the applicant applied again)
@vniatge No. Each application is considered without any other context.
plies someone send meh essay example
i totally get that you guys want to see what an accepted app looks like- it’s always helpful to have some references! just make sure you don’t try to replicate any essays you read- if you’re not being yourself in your app, it will show. its great to see some essays to start brainstorming, but make sure your essay is really you being you, not you trying to be someone else!
@yeldarb1 Sooo… you want to send me an example essay of yours?
Of course @yeldarb1
Hey guys. I’m currently a sophomore at IMSA and I just wanted to congratulate all of you guys and girls that got in. Welcome to the fam. =D>
@browntank thank you! It really means a lot to us!!
Do you guys know if orientation is before or after waitlisted students find out if they’ve been accepted or not? It would seem odd if they made us go to IMSA for a day long event if we aren’t sure we got it or not.
@browntank, Haha Harsh.
Congrats, IMPORTANT I just wanted to tell everyone to think twice before buying an IMSA laptop. I bought one and it’s pretty terrible for its price. So think twice, honestly they scare you saying the programs and everything comes with the laptop. But you easily just download those from the server. So I’d recommend to buy out of program, like I didnt. 90% of IMSA will tell you guys that. -Just want to tell y’all, cause I wish I was told.
I agree 100% with @ArabSprings post about the laptops. I personally use my MacBook Air but before that I had a Razor Blade. No problems at all downloading the IMSA programs on either one. They will try to scare you into purchasing their laptops by talking up the warranty and repair service but unless you want to spend a lot of $$ on a crappy laptop, you’re better off buying your own.
Kyle tho…
But yeah, it’s true. I purchased my laptop for the same price as the in-program ones and I haven’t had a single problem all year with it. Just don’t break it.
I was just wondering about the waitlisting process. Do they consider location and stuff? So like, if someone from my area declines, do my chances rise? And do they consider gender? Like, separating boys and girls
What up, I’m a rising junior at imsa and am so excited to meet you new sophs next year. If anyone has any questions at all, then don’t be shy and ask away
How did placement testing go for everyone?
@ImsaClassof2017 for the waitlist, do you know if they care about location? Also, what about gender? So for example, if I’m a boy and a girl from my area declines, does that raise my chances? (Being that she’s from my area- East Central- but also a girl; not my gender). I see that on the previous year like overview they have percentages for area and stuff.
@rialbhu I heard for waitlisted students they take the next closest application within the same gender.
Can somebody send me there essay. It would be nice to see one. I got in but just want to see. You can email me at akashgandhi2014@gmail.com
