@0chotona1liensis Yes I’m trying really hard, it’s just that my family is going through a very hard time right now, and it’s been very distracting lately. It’s been hard to focus
I have a 3.6 GPA right now. Last semester I had a 4.25
@isolatedmind I think you’ll probably be fine if your grades aren’t horrible, and I’m sure they would understand if there were extenuating circumstances.
@priyaluvsbooks, how do you know that 20/60 people got off the waitlist last year?
Is anyone having a hard time logging into their IMSA registration thing?
@YoloSwagMaster I had an issue yesterday. I’m just going to wait until Monday, I figure they haven’t set everything up fully yet or something
@YoloSwagMaster they told us how many people were placed on the waitlist sometime near the middle of the summer, you can also contact them. And you can ask how many people were taken off of the waitlist for each year. It also won’t help knowing anyone’s stats- they don’t determine if you get in anymore, it is solely determined on whether or not someone is not interested in accepting the invitation to IMSA. @isolatedmind As long as you do not fail any classes or get an C’s you’ll be fine. That’s the least of your worries at the moment. Congratulations for being accepted by the way!
@priyaluvsbooks Does my placement test scores effect my chances of getting off the waitlist?
@YoloSwagMaster nope but try to test out of MI IV vectors are terrible
@rialbhu they were pretty bad weren’t they XD @YoloSwagMaster, at this point nothing you do can get you accepted or off the waitlist. You’ll get in if enough people decline
@rialbhu. Aren’t you the guy that was the first one off the waitlist last year, or was the someone else? Also I am taking pre-calc at northwestern over the summer so I can be prepared for MI 4 if I test into it.
@priyaluvsbooks I hate that so much, I am never good with luck. I guess I’ll have to pray at the Hindu temple everyday for the rest of the summer
@priyaluvsbooks Hey, did you have a 4.0 GPA when you applied to IMSA from metea? If you remember from long time ago, I was entering 8th grade with like really terrible grades from 7th. Now, I got 4.0 all 8th grade. Hoping for 4.0 in 9th. I think I will have a 3.8 applying to IMSA Do you think they will like not care that much about my 7th grade grades if they saw that increase. Also, since you are from Metea, I am guessing you took Honors english, Honors bio, and Honors Algebra 2/Trig. Please give me some tips on how to secure 4.0 UW for first semester since you already went past that!
I just wanna make it clear that your second semester grades this year don’t affect your chances if you already got an acceptance letter. I ended up with a C second semester last year and I was fine. Just try not to fail anything. The worse that they’ll do is put you in excel and see how you do for the two week program in July. If you have B’s, you’re definitely fine though
@YoloSwagMaster You’ll be fine lol, at the worst you don’t get in and that’s not too bad @Isutiger25 I had a 3.93 unweighted when applying from Metea due to the fact that I got B’s in AP Human Geo and Spanish 1 first semester. It’s really not that hard to get an A in english, bio and alg2/trig because they are very much focused from the worksheets and books we have. If you want really specific information you should add me on facebook, or message me on college confidential to get my email
i got my letter, and i got accepted!
i’m not too sure if i’m going to go, though; we’ll see.
my gpa was 3.8333 in 7th, 3.9166 in 8th, 4.0 in 9th, and 3.9166 overall.
If I put that i’m hispanic and white what would they classify me as?
Got my letter back, I’m in that space of uncertainty called the waitlist
@rocketman23 stats?
I don’t have the actual GPA on me right now, but I do know:
7th: all A’s except for a high B in English 2nd semester
8th: Again, all A’s except for a B in Geometry (yay proofs)
9th (1st sem) all A’s except for World History H and Chem H, high B’s in those
Edit:
So I guess (estimates, assuming 95% for A’s and 85% for B’s)
7th: ~3.8
8th: ~3.8
9th: ~3.7, but probably higher because I had an 100% in both Band and Art
Edit #2:
Make that 9th grade score at least a 3.9. I forgot to factor in the weighting for honors.
Anyone here play KSP? Or am I the lone aspiring rocket scientist?
