I sure HOPE this is a typo and the word “not” is missing (after the word “its”).

Bessie has some really great advice. If you still feel really badly about this situation once you’re back at school, I’d do as she suggests.

^Ditto with thumper on that tax evasion thing. No offense, but your stepdad is starting to sound like a creep. Hopefully you can distance yourself from him (if you want to) after college.

Honestly, think about all the money you’d be saving by putting up with his crap. Its all worth it unless he is beating you with a bat.

Oh god, that was a typo. The ‘under my name’ thing I meant to say was NOT for tax evasion, sorry about that. As for the legal advice, I will clarify the situation with my parents (as I don’t entirely understand it) and then look elsewhere for legal advice.

Once again, thank you for your responses. Especially thank you to Bessie for thoroughly understanding my situation before commenting :)

I know this is a little “off topic” but I think it’s important enough to say. It is MY OPINION…that you should NEVER allow your name to be on ANY document that you do not understand…NEVER. This is particularly important in issues that deal with money, like business ownership. If your name is ON a document…you should understand what that means, and what the implications are for you and anyone else whose name is on that document. Otherwise…get your name OFF.

I agree. There is nothing else I can add to this, I am going to evaluate the situation with my parents. Our current situation is more along the lines of keeping the business in the family… bleh, its confusing and a pain in the ass… oh well.
