in FPS games, how useful is crouching?

it’s another button to press when im already crammed as to how many buttons i can press, and doesn’t it make it easier for someone to headshot me (on addition to making me move slower?)

In a shoot out during an FPS, especially if its something more realistic like CoD or Counterstrike, a few missed shots are all you need to lose. Crouching is useful in that you can make your opponent miss a few shots, especially if you crouch all the way to ground and he misses a few shots. It also lets you hide under walls and avoid fire more easily, and generally just makes it a pain in the ass to hit you.

Also, you don’t get detected on radar when you crouch in some games.

in games like Call of Duty and counterstrike-VERY USEFUL.

make good use of it.

for games like unreal tournament 2004 or ut3 or halo. . .not that useful.

In most FPS (Cod/cs…not sure bout others) games crouching makes your shots more accurate.

it is necessary for being a n00b on Halo multiplayer

LAWL You must be a n00b HAHAHAHAHA!

In seriousness, it depends on the game. More tactical-like/die faster FPSes, Crouching is very important. In games like Halo3, not so much.

Also, try playing FPSes on PC - it’s much easier to crouch and manage everything

The crouch is essential in Halo for inflicting enormous shame upon your fallen opponent.

lol thanks for the replies.

i suck at most FPS. :stuck_out_tongue: i have kill/death ratios of like 1/4 (unless I’m playing as Pyro, Spy, or Demoman on TF2). gah.

and in CS it’s 0.
