In need of A LOT of help and suggestions

I am a rising senior and just took my SAT for the first time June 2 my scores:

M-670
CR-470 (made a mistake in my june 2 thread post)
W-570
10 on Essay

Im not happy at all with those scores, my CR i was NOT expecting that,
i mean i suck at CR but i atleast expected a 550, my writing i was kinda surprised, thought i would get like around 550…and Math i am completely dissapointed i thought i would hit like 700 at the least.

Im planning on taking the SAT atleast 2 more times, but i have to check dates and stuff first. Does anyone know if u can take 2 SAT II’s o the same day? if so then i can take it twice for sure, if not ill have to think about it. Im also planning on talking the ACT (because its requiredby some schools im interested in, and because its like an alternate for me incase i do poorly again on the SAT)

Anyways i have taken Kaplan but i never touched the book, i plan to retake it just for practice tests with my higher score guarantee thing. I plan to hit the books hard the 3-4 months i have to study. I not sure about my plans for it.I have a whole bunch of books from Kaplan.

Im aiming at the very least for a 1950, i wanna apply to schools such as NYU, and ones not as selective as Ivy’s.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? ANy books i should buy? im taking practice tests online on websites and stuff, and im going to take through kaplan. Also i have the SAT practice test books from Kaplan.

My problem i have with math is geometry and stuff like that, because i never learned it. I skipped from the first part of math, not sure how to explain it since its different in NY, but if anyone is familiar with the system here i went from Math 1 and 2 (Math A) to the Last part of math B 5 and 6 (regents) and i skipped 3 n 4, which covered geometry and proofs and all of that. From there i went to Pre-Cal and then Cal AB. So yeah i dont have much knowledge about that. And CR i have a lot of problems with understanding i guess what i read? i mean i cant remmember i get bored and lose thought. Writing is actually the part i enjoy and hope i can get my scores higher in all my sections atleast by 100 points increase.

I also been looking around the forum and ppl have been talking about the “blue book” is that the Official COllegeboard SAT book? But anyways sorry for this lengthy post but i’d really appreciate any Information , Suggestions, Study Guides, or BOoks that would help me out.

Thanks CC

anyone =/ ??

Yes the “blue book” is the Official SAT Study Guide, it includes 8 practice tests i believe and you can get it either off the website, or like Barnes and Noble. Using the Blue Book and maybe picking up Princeton Review 11 Practice Tests should help.

hmm i was thinking of just picking up the blue book, does it have answers and explainations? not sure if i should pick up the princeton review because I have kaplans book of practicetests that i got from the prep class and its like 12 tests so should i just use those instead?

also is the CR kaplan book good? because i desperatly need help in CR.

anyone else with other suggestions? and can u take the 2 SAT II’s in one day?
