need help immediately looking to relocate asap!!!

You might get more helpful information on a real estate or city data site than on a college information site.

Yeah but there are a lot of Connecticut people on this site!

Try the Georgetown section of Wilton/Redding/Bethel. Try the Branchville section of Ridgefield, also Bethel, Danbury, New Fairfield, Brookfield. You might find something in Fairfield – maybe an academic rental in the beach area? Also possibly Norwalk.

Wouldn’t you be better served by finding a job, first?
;)

CT is a very tough area for relocation if you do not have an existing full time job with benefits. Home prices and rentals are high. There is a large gap between economic classes. If you have a job in Stamford, you may consider an apartment or duplex rental close to the area instead of commuting. The Danbury area and it’s surrounding towns offer more affordable housing, safe area and some good school systems, but the commute to Stamford is a nightmare, especially in the winter. Gas prices, home heating oil, utilities are quite high. Best of luck in your search.

I would find a job first, then figure out where to live. The NYC metro area may look ‘small’ to someone coming from the MidWest, however it can often take 30 minutes to go 5 miles due to the never ending traffic. Many of our roads were built up from horse trails and do not follow straight lines, plus you have to deal with water ‘hazards’ when you’re near the CT shore.

Unless you commute to NYC, Stamford would not be my first choice in places to live in CT.

Good luck.

You first posted at 12:13 PM on 9/30 and, then, when no one answered, you posted again two minutes later. Are you really relocating that fast??!!

I agree with ECmother and njmom … it’s hard to get around SW CT. Many businesses hire accordingly. I lost one job in Stamford because they (apparently) believed my house was too far from the offices.

I’d suggest checking Google Maps/traffic during a few rush hours morning and afternoons. I’m looking at Stamford traffic right now (5:30 weekday). LOTS of red.

Norwalk is close to Stamford and might meet your needs.

Other than that, for affordable housing, you need to look Bridgeport/New Haven area.

First, what are your job prospects? Stamford has many of the things you are looking for, diversity, entertainment, restaurants, close to beaches, train station, etc. however, prices and rent are high. Norwalk is another option. Bt the question remains about the job. It is considered the tristate area and the prices are consistent with living in suburbs not far from NYC.

What is it with these people who just registered on CC, have no other posts, require an answer right away, and then never show up again? One does wonder.
