In what order will you check?

Yeah, I totally stole this from the Harvard forum…

Since Stanford comes on its own day…

Stanford. Cool, an e-mail from Stanford! What could this be about? Aww…

Upenn
NYU
Brown
Stanford

Princeton
UCBerkeley
UCLA
UCSD
UCD
USC

Lol, I just realized that the people on the Harvard forum were applying to mainly ivies and, therefore, were going to get decisions at about the same time.

So, this is probably not as cool or as applicable for us. Anyway, I’ll probably just take them as they come (hopefully starting off right with an invite to WashU’s multicultural celebration weekend tomorrow!):
if I could choose (with reasoning! haah)

invitation to WashU’s Multicultural Celebration Weekend coming in the post this week (preferably tomorrow); yay! I’m into WashU granted I don’t f up!
Macalester (I think I have a relatively good chance here, should get my hopes up)Emory (ah, kind of good chance, but I am not really bent on going here, so it’s a neutral opening)
Vanderbilt (kind of like Emory; I applied here because of the great BME program; however, I don’t know if I’d fit into the South…)
Duke (similar to Vanderbilt, but I feel slightly more compelled to this school because it is more of a Northern school I’m told)
Northwestern (probably one of my top 4)
STANFORD (my heart and soul went into my Stanford app; that’s all).

:); I so excite! haha.

Oh, come on, you know you are thinking about this question… post!

the order they come in.
hahah.

good answer.

Ya I would check decisions as they come in.

Let’s say that Chicago released decisions on Mar 27 and Stanford on Apr 1. If I actually waited that long to check the decisions in the order that I personally wanted to, I wouldn’t make it to Apr 1, because I would have already exploded from overwhelming tension, because we all know that suspense is killer.

Not that I would make it into either school.

Oh yeah, you’re THAT person…that is, the one who keeps saying she has no hope of getting into Stanford and it would that it would be a mistake if she were accepted…haha, jk. Good luck!

Rice (likely letter)
Duke(minority likely letter, so building up to the ones I dont already Know about)
Johns Hopkins
Stanford
Yale

If they were all released at once, I think I’d do my best to save Stanford for last, and I’d try to go from least favorite to favorite. But knowing me, I’d probably go straight for Stanford, read my rejection, and then feel ****ty about all the other schools and be unenthusiastic about any acceptances. Yay me.

I wouldn’t wait for them all to begin reading the decisions though, I’d just read them as soon as I got them.

Lol, same here angrygoldfish. As I said, I realized that the people on the Harvard forum were talking about the ivies to which they applied (because apparently there is some ivy agreement that says they must release decisions at the same time)…so, this doesn’t apply to us (those who didn’t apply to ivies or not more than one). Sorry! I will have to save Stanford for last I guess! haha. That’s how I’d like it anyway because I care about it the most.

well, go Stanford for being unique and sending decisions the day after the ivies. just so we’re in agony one extra day. yay.

But, I didn’t apply to any Ivies. And I’ve got most decisions coming on separate days.
Already been accepted at Bucknell with a scholarship program.
SUNY Binghamton, I’ll probably be hearing from the soonest, I applied by prioritydeadline.
Kenyon, I already went to a multicultural weekend for…but I’m not sure about that…
Then Hamilton and Middlebury on the same day… I actually hadn’t thought about this… maybe I’ll just do Hamilton first… because I visited first… I like both schools… I really hadn’t thought of this…jeez…
Then Stanford.

Hey, so, do you guys think that being invited to a Multicultural weekend is like getting a likely letter? Because, when I went, we were discussing this and no one was sure. One of the admissions people literally said “We want you”. But every now and then they’d be like, “So if you get in”, or “I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you”. I just don’t want to be so sure I’m in, and then get rejected.

Yeah, since an officer did say “so if you get in”, I’d say it is still subjective at this point. You probably have a great chance, but I wouldn’t count on anything. Great job on getting the invite though!

If possible I’d do:

Macalester
Emory
Vanderbilt
Duke
Northwestern
WashU
Stanford

because that’s kind of the “order of importance to me”…however, I am still hoping for a Multicultural Celebration Weekend invite from WashU!

the multicultural invite stuff is pretty much a likely
