<p>When people at colleges mention “incestuous hookups”, what are they referring to? Sounds like it has something to do with non-committal relationships…</p>

<p>I’ve never even heard of “incestuous hookups”? The closest I’ve heard is “dormcest”, which refers to people in the same dorms/floors hooking up with each other, but wouldn’t an incestuous hookup just be hooking up w/a family member? </p>

<p>I don’t know, that or people in the same circle of friends switching partners back and forth. Hopefully it’s that and not actual incest…</p>

<p>Probably something to do with people hooking up within their friend circle too much. Like, I noticed in college particularly there’s a lot of dating within your friend group and even dating people in your friend group who were exes of other people in the friend group…I know personally of a case of two best girl friends literally just switching bfs. </p>

<p>Could also refer to hooking up with people in your dorm/on your floor, but I think the above is correct :p.</p>

<p>Yeah definitely the closest thing to it would be hall-cest or dormcest=too many people in one hall/floor (or group of friends) hooking up.</p>

<p>Probably means hooking up or dating too much within a tight social circle. Personally, I think it’s more suited for the timid and/or unadventurous, and I try to avoid it.</p>
