<p>Over the summer I wrote a research paper in French. I mentioned it in the additional info section of my common app and included the title with an english translation. I’m wondering whether it’s necessary for me to include an abstract of the writing (which is around 300 words in French), or whether it’s just unnecessary extra bulk for the admissions officers.</p>
<p>Well, I’ve heard Stanford hates being sent extra documents, like if you attach an activity list on the Common App instead of just using the space provided, they won’t look at it. I’ve also heard that they throw away anything extra they receive. It does seem a bit harsh, though. I would call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions when they get off their break in January.</p>
