Include legacy in Northwestern personal statement?

Do you think I should include that my sister graduated from Northwestern in the personal statement?

Because the Northwestern SCS application doesn’t ask anything of that sort, I’m not sure if I should.

If I should, any recommendations on how I should word it? Thanks

well i don’t know but my grandfather taught at yale and my dad’s half sister attended it…so i’m definetly going to mention that

I think you should mention it. My dad’s cousin was the first woman professor at Yale (my son is applying). I never thought of it until reading the last post. Should he mention it?

If your sister having gone there genuinely made you interested in the school, then sure, that would be good to include to demonstrate your interest.

In the “why Northwestern?” essay on the supplement, I mentioned that several of my relavtives had attended NU and that my grandfather had taught there. I was accepted, so it can’t do any harm, I guess.
