I’m a member of the Freemasonic youth group, the Order of Demolay, but I’m not sure if I should put this on my college applications. I have plenty other national offices and accomplishments that would make this seem irrelevant, but my reasons are this;

Demolay only lets people of excellent character in, with strong codes of morality, thus proving that my character is good, besides from the other things in my profile.

But…

Some people see Freemasons as evil and controlling the world (Mostly Ron Paul supporters - the US Government and 99% of others look upon us favorably)

Some people don’t understand Freemasonry properly

It seems awkward to put it on there, considering it is as sacred of a membership as being in any church.

My mistake - it lets patriotic religious people in who aren’t ‘bad’ and tries to instill characteristics of morality and various other principles into them.

Freemasonry. That may raise some eyebrows. It may play and even bigger role…it may even be a plus if you apply to some elite place like Yale where they have the Skullz and Bonez club. I bet they love a Freemason as a member of their leadership. :-)

Well, that’s part of the organization’s activities isn’t it, which is private. There’s a reason why Freemasons and DeMolays kick so much butt…I mean, Napoleon, Clinton, Simon Bolivar, Washington, etc. You can’t get much better than that.
