Include school level awards?

I go to an average public school (we haven't sent anyone to HYP in 4 years). I've won a Scholastic Writing memoir award, but that's it. All my other awards are school level - NHS, Achievement Awards in Math, Science, English, etc..

Should I list the school level awards?

List them all in one category/box on the CommonApp unless some of them have cool names, ie. "John Smith Memorial Award in XYZ"

I don't see why not. (Congrats on the Scholastic Writing award too :)!)

^Thanks :)

So should I list them under one category when possible?

Ex: Achievement Awards in Math, Science, and English (10, 11)

Definitely list them, and if you don't have any other "big name" awards to fill the slots of the Common App, list them separately. Honestly, awards are awards, and how you list them won't matter much.

I also loled at how you consider your school to be average for not sending anyone HYP in 4 years. My school has never sent anyone HYP, so I wonder what that makes us :p.

Besides yourself, of course. ;D

List them all, regardless of whether they are just school awards, if u need to fill space. U never know what that history award might "say" to an admissions officer.... ;)

Thanks, don't know how I forgot that one ;)
