Incoming First Year Pre-Med questions

Hey everyone, so I will be a first year pre-med at UC Berkeley and, like many other hopefuls, I hope to get into a medical school after I graduate. Well, this summer I have not scheduled any internships or volunteer work, and I was wondering if it would be a waste of time to spend this last summer of freedom with my friends and family. Some people on collegeconfidential recommended that I not stress myself out this summer since it is the last real one that I will have.

Is it really a waste to not use this summer before college volunteering/shadowing?

One last question: So it turns out that I may be getting a C or a D for a local community college class that I am taking (Administration of Justice). Will this grade show on my transcripts and destroy my chances of medical school?

Thanks!

Nah, you’re fine. Yes, the C or D will show up. No, it will not single-handedly destroy your chances, but obviously it’s a bad thing.

Your done. I heard if you even apply with a D that you get black listed from every job available on the planet.
