<p>How would the admission committee consider an incomplete on my transcript? I am thinking about receiving an incomplete and later a grade change. Both “incomplete” and the grade will appear on my transcript.</p>
<p>Is it better to avoid an incomplete even if the final grade will be worse in that case?</p>

<p>Answer: They wont care at all unless you have several (6 or more) of them.</p>
<p>Sorry if there are other posts about the same issue. I remember seeing discussion about W’s, but not incomplete + grade.</p>
<p>All an incomplete means is that some extenuating circumstance came up and you had to file to finish a class later. As I said, my understanding of the issue is that unless this is a recurring pattenr, grad schools wont care much if you have an INC on your transcript.</p>
