So like my application will not be completed after Februrary 17th, and that’s for sure because of the tests scores. Will I get a rejection right away?

If yes, can I still appeal for my decision? Because I am pretty darn sure that my scores will arrive their office right after the decisions.

Are you saying you have not yet submitted any SAT or ACT scores at all and the only ones you will have are from the Jan test? If so you have a problem. UIUC is making final decisons as I am posting this and they will be issued Feb 17. UIUC’s last accepted testing date was December. You need to call to find out if you will even be considered because the likelihood is you will not until after Feb 17 decisions go out and thus you will be treated as a late applicant who will be considered for admission only if there are still seats left (doubtful) after deciding admission for all the applicants who timely applied and got test scores in.

I had my ACT scores sent, but I did horrible on the English part, which they won’t consider a pass on my English proficiency. So,basically the application is incomplete until my January SAT score get sent to them. Would that give me a rejection right away?

What do you mean by pass on your English proficiency? UIUC does not have any minimal score for applying for admission. You might be rejected if a low score but that is not automatic. If you are referring to minimal score needed to pass out of the first rhetoric course in college, that has nothing to do with admission and you can actually submit the Jan score to have that later determined if admitted. If you are an international student who has to demonstrate English proficiency by the English test score on ACT, CR on the SAT, or score in TOEFL, be aware that those are “soft” minimums and you will not be automatically rejected if a little below the requirement.

@drusba: Thank you so much for helping me out.

Yes, I meant the undergraduate english proficiency that based on my ACT score. But if there is a soft minimum, then why it says “Your application is incomplete and cannot be processed. See missing items below.” on my application status checking page? And the missing item is my “English proficiency”.

So, right now, I am so confused and sort of hopeless.

Call and ask. If they are marking you as incomplete you risk not be considered (did you send a TOEFL?). The Jan score is not going to get there in time to be considered before decisions are released.
