Incomplete essay?

So…I found this essay topic rather difficult…I had been preparing for essays about success, changes of opinion, etc. so an essay topic about nature took my completely off guard. Anyway, I was able to write and complete my first 3 paragraphs, but was only able to write 1 sentence of my conclusion. Does an incompletely conclusion negatively affect my score? And if so, what degree of effect does it have?

Thanks CC!

Of course any incomplete portion of your essay has a negative effect on its overall score. Not to be sexist, but an essay without a good conclusion is like a pretty girl with a small chest. You like it (her), but you always think that something’s missing. If I were a grader, I’d think your short conclusion is a cursory attempt to wrap up your essay, even if you spent like 3 minutes thinking about it in reality. I’d think you didn’t manage your time wisely and I’d be left with an overall bad impression, even if your body paragraphs and introductory paragraph was excellent. What could have been a 12 with an okay conclusion might be docked to 10 or 11 with an incomplete conclusion.

You’re welcome, Mycoalwin.
