Apparently my school’s gpa is on a 4 scale, so I should have said 4.7/4. I accidentally said 4.7/5 on the common app. Should I notify Yale of this?
I’d let it go personally. Your transcript should be correct, and that is really where they will view your grades.
Even 4.7/5 should you past an initial “no, no, no, maybe” screening to the point where they actually look at your transcript, but I’d be inclined to email and request that a correction be noted regarding your application.
I was under the impression that Yale calculates the GPA “from scratch.” Is that not true?
Although the Common Application asks students to list their GPA, no college I’m aware of takes the student at their word-- Admissions uses your official transcript and the GPA listed on the transcript regardless of what student’s wrote down on the Common App. So, no worries!
