Increasing an SAT score of 1240???

Hello,
I just took a full-length practice SAT yesterday (disregarding the essay), without studying, and received a 1240. I want to work in the mindset of trying to receive a perfect 1600 over the next 6 months. Personally, that goal is probably extremely hard to achieve, but the higher I aim for, the harder I will work! What would be the best, most worthwhile ways to study BESIDES practice tests?

My issues:

  • reading and writing/language are my weaker areas but I’m okay with the timing
  • I’m okay with math content but need to work around the time constraints

Erica Meltzer’s practice books have become the good standard for SAT reading and language.

A 340 point gain in the new SAT is very difficult. Try your best to practise and go through the answers you missed. You will find out what your plateau score is going to be in 6 months or before senior year.
