<p>I’ve seen that a lot of people try to participate in competitions such as the various olympiads in science, math, computers. Also there seems to be a general agreement that awards/participation/etc in these competitions can help college admissions.</p>
<p>I wanted to ask, do MIT admissions officers also like awards in competitions such as the ‘[Independent</a> Games Festival](<a href=“http://www.igf.com/]Independent”>http://www.igf.com/)’, or do they only heed the more ‘traditional’ competitions?</p>
