Should I attach an explanation of my independent studies to my resume?

One more question, although unrelated to independent studies, are there any restrictions on the create your own major?

By independent studies do you mean independent study courses you took at another college, were supervised by a professor, and actually got credit hours for? ----> attach transcript from that school

Or do you mean independent studies as in something you did on your own in HS? ----> just write what you did on your resume.

Yes, there are restrictions on custom majors. One such requirement is that your courses have to show some sort of unity, a thread that ties them all together. You can’t just take random classes from different areas of inquiry and lump them together without showing how they relate to one another.

A friend of mine sculpted a major on “The Wonders of the Human Body.” He studies bio, anatomy, sculpting, drawing, physiology, psychology, and BCS.

You have to meet with an adviser once you’re accepted, get the requirement, get your plan approved, and stick with it.
