As a Junior now I took AP Calc AB/BC, AP English lang, and AP Spanish lang. Next year I’m going to push it a bit with AP Gov, AP (Macro) Econ, AP Enviro, AP Physics B, and AP Lit.

Last year I took AP Art History, but only half of the course because it was cut from the school due to budget cuts in the district, and I ended up not taking the AP Exam. I am contemplating on independently restudying it for next year, does it sound like a good idea with all these other APs?

Sounds hard, but possible. I did it this year (from scratch online) with AP art, AP Lit, AP stat, and a college psych class. I spent A LOT of time studying for it though and don’t think I did great, but its possible. Just work a bit at a time.

Read your text.
Make flashcards/charts/study sheets for vocab, main works of art, STYLES!!, Periods etc.
As well as for artists.
Go on the website, Collegeboard.com –> ap art history pages. Go to sample questions–they have essays you can write, Grade them objectively!!!
If you study really hard, you can make upwards of a 4-5 (Fewest people make 5 on ANY ap exam)
I personally took the class this year. Think I got a 4. Good Luck

Sure it’s possible, a lot of people self-study AP tests BUT you can’t fool around, you have to get on the ball early and get a review book/text book. Maybe you can continue using the textbook you used last year? The REA review book, in my opinion, is fantastic :)

Like the user above me stated, these are some tips:
*Flash cards of the most important pieces of art for every art period!! Location, medium, significance, historical context, and artistic style!
*Make a small chart of all the art periods, what makes each unique, how to tell two similar styles apart (for example, how to tell Post-Impressionism apart from Impressionism), and how to easily identify these styles.
*The REA review book comes with a CD you can install on your computer. The CD comes with about 20 pieces of art per art period. Test yourself by looking at the piece and reciting the artist and period

Last year, I took AP US History and AP English Lang & Comp as regular classes and AP Art History as an independent study. I also had four other regular (non-AP) classes. If you do that, you will not have a life, but it can be done. I got a 5 on all three exams.
