The block plan at Colorado College is not experimental. They’ve been following it for decades now. All students there are on the block plan.

Both Carleton and Colorado College are members of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM). Aside from the block plan, another major difference is geography and setting. Carleton is in a small rural town. Colorado College is in a mid-sized city at the foot of the Rockies. Winters in Northfield MN are bitterly cold. The climate in Colorado Springs is milder (still with a fair amount of snow, but sunnier, warmer, and dryer.)
