I’m Indian, but I live in India. Do I count for this thread? This thread is fascinating, by the way.

some indians guys are nice and some girls are nice depends who it is

99% of the people in this thread really need to visit India again.

It’s changed, you know. It’s 2009 we’re talking about now, not the 1990s you guys have picked out of a Jhumpha Lahiri.

^ She’s right. Today’s India is very different.

Yeah, I love books. Did you read/watch The Namesake?

I feel the same way as you darthk. I prefer my American culture because everything is much better. I hate Indian clothes- its hideous and overdone. Haha… I don’t like anything about Bollywood; its just a really bad knockoff of Hollywood.
THANK YOU! Someone understands me! I don’t need to come into Asian night and start dancing. I prefer American culture over Indian culture. I’m Indian, but I like the American culture.

yeah india is so modern now, i love india and its culture, proud be a indian living in america

as am i! Go indian power! PA-POW!!!

Indian pride!!! yay!

yeah guys how do you start a new thread

wow this thread just made my day actually it just made my weekend :D

@fresh101 i feel the exact same way sometimes

Coming from a high school that’s about 97% white, 2% African American, and 1% Hispanic/Asian/Indian/Other; it really sucks sometimes :-// I like my high school, but it’s just that some of these people (friends included) have no cultural exposure at all. The funny thing is sometimes they’ll say something about another ethnicity without realizing that it’s racist :P

And to all the indians that want to abandon their culture:

embrace what you have it’s a heck of a lot more exciting than becoming “americanized.” I’m Gujurati, and my life would be so boring if I couldn’t make fun of what Gujus tend to do :P
