I was just filling out my application on myIllini and noticed that they don’t want us to report our 9th, 11th, or 12th mid term marks (http://admissions.illinois.edu/Self-Reported/india-courses). Do all Indian students have to follow this or can we choose to report our grades? Is not reporting / reporting them going to affect my admission chances in any way?

The counselor has to upload your transcripts from 9-12. Mine did it for me. Most colleges want to see consistency and rigor in academics. Your transcripts from 9-12 would give them a fair idea of how you are as a student and how you have evolved. Check out the websites of colleges you are applying to. Most require them. So I think sending them would affect your admission chances. For queries specific to your case you could always email them. All the best!
@YashviMoonka I just spoke to someone at UIUC (a junior). He just had to upload his 9th and 10th grade transcripts. The school uploaded his 12th grade board mark sheet after the results were out.
