<p>OK…its now official. Princeton’s rejected me. That lady on the phone was really sympathetic…at least a few words of support there…</p>
<p>During the last week I have received several rejection letters, the language of which were more or less the same.
Recently I received the rejection letter from Lawrence University(LAC) the content of which is some what different. I am reproducing it below for your reading.
It says
"
We sincerely appreciate your interest in Lawrence and wish that we were in a position to be able to offer you admission. Because your financial resources are so limited and because our scholarships for international students cover only a portion of tuition, we are unable to offer you admission and sufficient resources to allow you to enroll at Lawrence.</p>
<p>If, in the future, your financial situation changes and you secure a sponsor or additional funds that would allow you to support a substantial portion of the cost of attending Lawrence, please contact us again. Clearly, you are a student who has the intellectual capability and enthusiasm to take advantage of the resources available at Lawrence.</p>
<p>You have our best wishes for pursuing higher education elsewhere".</p>
<p>Does this mean that although academically acceptable I was rejected because my financial resource was SO limited that they did not condsider it at all?</p>

<p>Shashank, the ExitWindowsEx() function in kernel32.exe is supposed to do it. My friend made a plugin for a trojan we made (<em>ahem</em>), and it had sections for Win 9x/ME and XP… worked perfectly.</p>
<p>Look it up on MSDN. I tried to find the exact code for you but I can’t find the CD…</p>

Trying to do the same thing… ExitWindowsEX is working for logoff but not for shutdown or restart. I think i should maybe try it on a different computer then (it works on a computer running 98, but havent checked it on another running XP)

<p>And if you guys remember, I was making an issue out of precisely this thing… everyone of you (esp shikhar and laila) were tryin to get me to apply to more of these so-called “safeties” despite crappy aid policies. Didnt I say that I dont want to make a fool of myself by applying and getting rejected due to aid?</p>
<p>Acceptance rate is inversely proportional to aid prospects, remember that.</p>
