Indiana - Bloomington

Is this school known for any of its grad programs? How does it compare to other university grad schools academically?

You said that you wanted to do anthropology, correct? I have a question for you: do IU-B have either food studies or human-animal relations? If so, I think it’s worth having on a PhD wishlist.

Indiana is an AAU university. It is more than reputable and has many fine graduate programs. Whether it is good for what you want is a very personal question. You can best find this out by looking at the department of interest and search on papers written by the faculty.

It has a good reputation for Education Studies. You have to look at grad school reputation by department. You have to look at department fit for you, by subarea etc. You have said already that a professor told you you were searching too early so give the forum a break or at least stick to posting in one thread.

Read papers in the areas you are interested in. Keep a log of those papers you read and who the authors are, where they go to school and/or teach. Then you will have learned something and you will have some lists to refer to after a year or so.

^ thanks guys. My advisor told me to do the same thing.

I loved my two years at IU. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
