Indiana or Illinois?

I dont know which one to choose!
PLease help me make my decision easier…I plan to major in Business (Finance) with a minor in Geology
Also, I want a big a Greek life, big sports scene, and lots of school spirit.
FYI, I got a $7,000 scholarship to IU, and nothing to Illinois as of now.

So which would be better choice?

Sounds like you want Indiana…With your scholarship, IU and U of I are going to be similar in cost…correct?

If the costs are similar, I’d pick Illinois

Have you seen both campuses? Personally I’m from IL but I think IU has a much nicer campus.

I live down here in Texas. Soo OOS tuition, which is pretty steep at Illinois after the rise this year.
In terms of cost/year for me (scholarships included):
IU- approx. $20,000
Illinois: approx. $32,000

If you’re OOS for both, choose IU, as they’ll give you a scholarship and save you $48K. Really no difference in IU business and Illinois business, IU may be a bit better actually.

If you are OOS and getting the scholarship at Indiana, I’d say go there. If you were in-state from Illinois, then I’d say go there. The schools aren’t that much different–and IU has the nicer campus and better city environment. Going to Illinois would probably only be preferable if you were an accounting or chemical engineering major.

P.S. I have a friend who is a chemical engineering major from Illinois–but came out and went to work for Google. She has been there 4 years now.

Here’s the rundown on why you should come to IU. Being from Illinois, I have a lot of friends that go to Illinois, and many are in business.

If you have the opportunity to be a direct admit at IU, you’ll likely also get $7,000 faculty award and maybe more from Hutton. At IU you take business classes right away, especially if you are a direct admit.

At Illinois, I have a friend who’s a business major and this semester he is taking ZERO business classes. Last semester I think he had one or two. That’s not to say Illinois is a bad program, because it isn’t, especially for accounting.

Also, for me, with scholarships, IU and U of I are actually pretty close in price. Yes, IU is a little higher, but in the end it isn’t that big of a difference.
