Hi all, so I applied to IU Kelley 11/01 and I’m yet to hear back. pretty nervous seeing all of you who have gotten in already. My gpa is like 4.871 and my act was 34 so Ik I fit the requirements for DA. Any ideas when I may get a decision back? This is the info I’ve been given in the portal.

You will be fine! No one can predict your decision date, so you just have to wait. Which is hard, I know! I am sure IU was deluged with apps on 11/1.

IU is 85% acceptance rate. So don’t worry. I can 99% give you assurance that you will be accepted even if you didn’t have any major extracurriculars.

Back for another update- We reached out to Kelley about doing the review petition, but my son received an email this morning from Kelley telling him not to worry about submitting the petition review because he is a direct admit- and also mentioned he would get info soon about registering for the direct admitted students day! However, the portal has not yet been updated and still lists him as university division pre-business. We’re going to rely on the info in email. I think there are still a few glitches in the process, but we are happy for him!

We got the physical letter today too with direct admit letter to the media school and Hutton Honors. Son got Dean’s Scholarship (8K/year) plus another $4K/year for from Hutton.

Dean Scholarship is for OOS and range from 1k-11k/year.

We are OOS. Stats are 3.9 unweighted/4.9 weighted, 34 ACT, 8 APs/all the rest Honors

What do you suggest i do? IUB is my top choice school but my gpa is on the lower side above a 3.0 tho, however i applied as a pre business major and i’m stressed i wont get in bc business majors are competitive. i’m aware i won’t get into kelley i’m not asking about kelley only about iub the university itself and if i should change my major to better my chances of getting in?
You need to contact admissions. There are a few picky rules for DA. You don’t want to miss the appeal deadline if you need to use it. You might be fine, but I would check.
Sure- my son was admitted pre-business even though he appeared to meet the direct admit stats requirement. I believe the “problem” may have been that he transferred high schools after Sophomore year when we moved. Others here have mentioned the system doesn’t seem to be able to handle reviewing multiple transcripts very well so we thought we were going to have to file review request to Kelley. But after an email exchange Kelley confirmed we don’t have to go through the review process after all. Maybe someone there was able to just look at the GPAs on the transcripts?

You will definitely get into IU don’t worry about that and you applying as a business major won’t change that. You got it!
Does the people who got financial aid in physical mail’s One IU show the aid in the financial aid section?

No, it is blank there. May be once all scholarships/ aid etc is decided in Feb/March, it will be updated there

D24 applied to Kelley early action but havent heard anything yet. She meets the SAT/GPA requirement for direct admit.
Still waiting on any correspondence.
