Wondering the same thing. Ours changed to “application”.
yes same here… my understanding is that you would need to petition the business school for a possible direct admit.
SoCal San Diego here… congrats!.. son applied for Supply Chain Mgt, status reads : Application hasn’t been admitted (yet)…
Did you petition for Kelley before or after the admission?.. thanks for your time!

Can he petition for Kelley direct admit now? using the link show… + (2) essays…
thanks for your time!
Yes, he can petition now. Petitions are due by 2/1, I believe, but there is no upside to waiting to petition. So if he has time now, he should get it done. Good luck!
thanks! we appreciate your speedy reply! does that status change to “application” mean good news in coming soon?
interested in the same… someone posted April 4th. IIRC… aggg.
sorry , April 14th I read here on the board
can you appeal for the dean’s scholarship?
Your student can submit the request review as soon as the application is submitted as long as they have their IU account set up
yes that’s my understanding.
Are all Kelley DA’s from petition released on same day?. 14 APR?..
IF we get that turned in quickly, before 01 FEB of course, any hint of that
“accepted to IU” notice also including a Kelley DA too?.. OOS DS applied TO (test optional) and
had 3.72 vs 3.8 GPA… TIA!
Is there a certain time of day that portal is updated with IU application decision? I have twins who are still waiting on decision - applied 10/30.
Typically Kelley petitions are released in batches and usually toward the end of the months. Most people hear by Mid-March. The earlier the batches the fewer results in those batches. If a batch occurs in December, which is probably will, is going to be highly weighted to high stat females.
I know there is urgency for decision. I appreciate that a lot of students these days via common app apply to 10-20 schools and wait to see where they are admitted/aid amount before narrowing down. Rather than narrow down first and apply. Most big public schools do not admit with this shift in student/parent hopefulness timeline in mind. They know you will not tell them until May 1.
While it is nice to know - you simply won’t know most merit aid and many will not know Kelley until well into early March. 2/1 is the next big deadline which is a housing deposit. And if you talk to Kelley they will tell you housing is the most important and impactful deadline of all.
Direct Admit day, usually late March but probably earlier this year with earlier Easter holiday, will be the next big stressor because you cannot register until admitted to Kelley. Kelley will tell you those days are designed for auto stat direct admit for the most part. Which isn’t all that nice or helpful but is reality.
Enjoy the time with your applicants and as much as possible stress less about admissions and merit. It will all resolve in due time. No news does not mean bad news. It means no news.
The earlier the batches, the fewer results?! My student actually Did narrow down choices before applying and IU Kelley is a Top choice.
We have another student who is a sophomore, housing was not an issue at all
what are your thoughts if my son commits now as a direct admit to Kelley, would that affect his potential merit that he would receive from the school? Some say not to commit now but others say the “big schools” it wont matter because they will send regardless. I also read a few posted that they received mail over the weekend and it had merit aid in package
DS24 is direct admit to Kelly. He has not committed yet but received merit in the mail today. That said, considering how soon he got it, I don’t know that waiting would make a difference. Not an expert, of course.
thx. Can you give an estimate of how much OOS Merit was for?
when you say mail, do you mean email or postal?
The merit people receive now is just an initial round. It is stats based algorithmic aid. As people are admitted to Hutton there is aid, GSA and SSA aid, etc…
As for housing I’m referring to JLLC and Kelley and 2/1. I really have no idea how easy or not easy general housing at IU is. But JLLC is competitive if that’s of interest.
I have no answer to what anyone should do. That’s up to anyone’s individual situation.
I am not aware that committing now to Kelley or anywhere else would give someone an advantage of being considered for certain aid. The bigger schools are less influenced by “demonstrated interest” because they just have so many applicants. In part the deadlines exist because as people narrow choices they are less likely to write essays for aid at schools they are not really interested in anymore.
Nobody should be stressed if Kelley admits some via review this week but doesn’t admit their applicant. It is very unlikely to be a big pool of admits at this stage and it means nothing in terms of your application success odds.
