I’m trying to decide on where I want to go to college so I have some questions about these colleges! Feel free to answer if you know anything about any of these schools

  1. What are the parties like?
  2. Are there ever any problems with rape or getting drugged?
  3. Do people try to pressure others into doing anything they don’t want to do?
  4. Are people at these schools known for being nice?
  5. This may sound stupid but I’m an Italian coming from the NYC Metro/Northern NJ area so I’m used to good food haha are there any good Italian places at these schools (besides Rutgers)?

  1. These are state school so obviously there are going to be parties. I know Indiana, Rutgers, and Penn State has good parties.
  2. Unfortunately yes. That's why never put your drink down.
  3. Depends I guess really. I never had that problem though.
  4. Yes there's nice people everywhere.

Numbers 1-3 are pretty much the same as above.
4. It depends on what type of people you would classify as “nice”. The more “western” schools you mentioned above are more likely to have down-to-earth people (I know that’s true for Ohio State at least because I’m going there) while you are more likely to find more fast-paced people on the east coast.
5. The rule of thumb with this question is the bigger the college town, the more likely you’ll find more of an assortment of restaurants.

My daughter and I area also foodies, so what we did is for every university she was seriously considering, we looked up the university on www.googlemaps.com and then searched for “restaurants.” It makes all restaurants show up around the university, so you can see exactly what is there in walking distance or driving distance. You then just hover over each restaurant symbol to see what type of place it is. It’s great!
