Indiana University

Hello I am wondering what anyone can share regarding out of state ( Oregon) scholarships give at IU for high GPA test optional students? Do they give good merit for OOs?

I imagine you are looking for applying next year?

I would take a look at the thread of this years’ Early Action acceptances to see examples of the offers that various admits with different stats received in this cycle so far.

There are multiple $4k-12k per year offers from IU cited by those admitted recently
sometimes a small additional amount from specific major/college if Direct Admit

Scroll through replies from the past 40days or use search within the topic for keywords like “Merit” or “Dean” to see a range and compare to your stats.

Hi, my D was accepted this year and will likely attend. We are from Bend.
She is high stats, test optional and so far has $6,000 a year in merit. She is waiting to hear on several other possible scholarships, though from what we’ve learned IU doesn’t give out a lot of merit. (They are lower cost than many peer schools).

Hi thanks for your response! Also from Oregon my daughter is a junior so looking ahead- trying to figure if she should take sat or act or try to apply without- is yours going to go there? Did you visit?

Visited and Loved it! Will dm you stats and her results so far, going test optional hasn’t hurt her

Sent a dm. Lmk if you didn’t get it

Thank you! This is all so helpful for me as same mine wants the big school- we are in west linn- she currently has a 4.0 unweighted and will likely only have 5 AP. So she is not a strong test taker so looking for schools with merit that don’t care so much about scores. I will look over some of these schools - really appreciate you reaching out.

Lmk if you have more questions! The choice of major will matter a lot. Stem and business programs like to see test scores
