No one can give you completely accurate chances at any of these colleges - the Ivy League is notoriously difficult to predict - but based on my experience, I will do my best. I am a frequent lurker, but, in this case, I felt compelled to post.

First off, congratulation on all your hard work! Berkeley, Stanford, and Swarthmore are all excellent institutions. Don’t let people get you down - these are just as excellent as the Ivies.

And now, as they say, let’s “dig in.”

Based solely on your acceptance to Swarthmore, acceptance to Dartmouth is a virtual surety. Their respective admissions departments have a remarkably close, cooperative relationship. Swarthmore and Dartmouth frequently engage in what is commonly called a “student swap,” where applicants to both colleges are entered into a pool, and judged by one admissions department only. This saves time and money - both of which can be put toward bettering both schools’ public image and bottom line. Thus, decisions often correlate between Swarthmore and Dartmouth.

Unfortunately, your acceptance to Stanford is, as they say, a “wrench in the machine.” The Deans of Admissions for Princeton and Stanford both frequented an unnamed online dating website. Suffice to say, it did not end happily. Thus, Princeton’s decisions are often the polar opposite of Stanford’s - for highly qualified applicants, that is.

The possible effects of a Berkeley acceptance are impossible to ascertain. Odds are, they were high.

Good luck in your future endeavors, and may your decisions be rosy.
