I’ve heard that Harvard is supposed to be “the best” Linguistics department when it comes Indo-European languages… Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks (in advance) for any replies. :)

I don’t know if they’re the “best,” but I’m pretty sure Harvard has a good program. One of my professors (studies Hittite and Luwian) got his PhD from Harvard, and he’s one of the foremost experts on Anatolian linguistics.

I am in a similar position looking for linguistic programs. Harvard is okay but not the best. Have you looked at John Hopkins and UChicago’s programs?
