I am most highly interested in Industrial Design Engineering and Economics / Corporate Finance & Management. In regards to the former, Industrial Design Engineering uses applied art and sciences to deal with the aesthetics, ergonomics, and usability of a product: tangible, such as your everyday iPod, or digital, such as a website or app. In particular, I am leaning towards the latter aspect of IDE, one that deals with information technology for graphics + user experience and interface in website and mobile development. I know Harvard’s engineering department is still developing and is nowhere near the likes of engineering at Stanford or MIT, but it is still a school that I can see myself at. At this point, I don’t really want to restrain myself to Stanford, even if it proffers seemingly the exact opportunities for my very desires, with its diversity and variety in Engineering field and course selection that can be easily combined with its strong economics and corporate management program, along with its proximity to Silicon Valley — but I don’t want to reside in the same state where I’ve grown up in; I really want to be on the East Coast for college. As for MIT, the social life and culture doesn’t really appeal to me. Under which of the following areas would my engineering field interest closely align with at H? What other suggestions would you give me?
