I checked my status and this is what it says:

INELIGIBLE STATUS REASONS
BFFAS 7 - ENGLISH CRITERIA NOT MET
BFFMS 7 - ENGLISH CRITERIA NOT MET
BFGSV 7 - ECONOMICS CRITERIA NOT MET
BFGSV 7 - ENGLISH CRITERIA NOT MET
BFGSV 7 - PERSONAL FITNESS REQUIREMENT NOT MET
BFGSV 7 - PHYSICAL EDUCATION ELECTIVE REQUIREMENT NOT MET

Can anyone help me with this? I really need BF. Why does it say English 3 times? I’m currently finishing my 4th year this year. Econ I finished in the Summer…and I’m taking HOPE right now…does that count for the last two?

I think HOPE does count for the last two. I think this issue could probably be solved at your school’s guidance office. Sounds like there was an issue with the school reporting your transcripts/credits. Most likely your guidance counselor should be able to assist you.

Thanks rlynch, I will talk to them about this tomorrow.

Well I just noticed the letters and basically FAS is the one that matters because the others are the lower scholarships (MS and GSV). So only the English Criteria isn’t met. I didn’t take a 4th year English at my high school but I am currently taking Freshman Composition II at a college (dual enrollment). This should count right…

How did you check your status?

Have you applied for BF yet? If so, just go to [Florida Student Scholarship & Grant Programs](<a href=“Home - Florida Student Scholarship & Grant Programs”>Home - Florida Student Scholarship & Grant Programs) and click on Application Status and Award History.

For some reason it says Florida Medallion Scholarship instead of Florida Academic, when i qualify for the Academic one…

I guess i have to stop by counselor

Yea, get that checked out. Hopefully both of ours can be fixed.

Hopefully… you wouldn’t happen to know when the deadline for everything is would you?

June 30th. They have to review you again after you graduate and you have to send your final transcripts.

Good… then there still is time…

It’s funny… I got into UF Honors, but apparently didn’t qualify for the highest bright futures award… I’d hate to put more financial stress on my parents for a stupid mistake
