Hi,

I am interested in web design and development. I am in the informatics major now so what class should I take to improve my skills in this area. I have taken cse143, info343, info340. (info 344 web tool and development isn’t taught in Fall)

Thank you

Are you looking for front end or back end work? Are you looking for something like CSE 154 (formerly 190m) which includes topics such as html, css, js, ajax, php, sql etc?

yes. thats right. but I took CSE 190m.
Info 344 (about web tool and development) will not be available in Fall.

Sorry can you explain to me what is the difference between front-end and back-end work?

Thank a bunch

Here’s someone’s explanation : [web services - Difference between frontend, backend, and middleware in web development - Stack Overflow](<a href=“web services - Difference between frontend, backend, and middleware in web development - Stack Overflow”>web services - Difference between frontend, backend, and middleware in web development - Stack Overflow)

TLDR:
Front End: UI, “visual” part of the website (ie. buttons, text) - basically what users will see
Back End: part of the website responsible for processing information, registration, “secret” things that churn in the website when you interact with the front end.
