Inform Princeton about other offers?

So I applied to Princeton SCEA and was deferred. Since my deferral, I want to go Princeton more than ever xD.

I also applied to U.K. universities just for the sake of it and got offers from Imperial College London (World rank 9 for Physics), University College London (World rank 23 for physics), and University of Edinburgh (World rank 21 for physics). I also got an interview invitation from the University of Cambridge (World rank 5 for physics) which I had to decline because of VISA problems.

However, I am not rich enough to afford these super expensive unis and will surely decline their offers.

My question is, should I send this information to Princeton saying something along the lines “I was accepted to these unis but Princeton is, of course, the best in the world for Physics. In addition, I can’t afford these unis while I can afford Princeton thanks to its generous financial aid program.”

Also, should I send this information to other U.S. universities where I am applying?

Thanks for your advice.

Colleges expect that applicants will receive offers from other colleges. So, no need to send that info; Princeton will not care and would likely send you a message saying “We wish you all the best at Imperial.”

You can certainly send a LOCI saying that Princeton is your first choice. Whether it helps or not, is a different question. It certainly can’t hurt as long as you don’t inundate them with updates.

Agreed. Princeton won’t wilt because you’ve got other offers. They do their own reviewing.

And it’s your chance to update how you match (which is different than why you want them.) Be wise.

Princeton does not really care about your other applications or how much you love
Princeton. It would not make any difference. Send an update or two on accomplishments if you have them over the next couple of months (awards, etc). Don’t send info on other application results.

Ok cool thanks !
