<p>Think of the difference as this:</p>
<p>IT is about working with “what is”; CS is about creating “what can be”</p>
<p>IT is about applications and networks; CS is about mathematics and the architecture of operating systems, and generally the development of new software.</p>
<p>CS is booming with job projections in the 40% range through 2016. CS starting salaries in the mid-$50k range depending on grades, location, company, etc…</p>
<p>so which one is better or are they the same?</p>
