I know Washington U. is a great medical school, but does anyone know how the pre-med program at the university is? How would it rank compared to universities such as Rice, Johns Hopkins and Georgetown?

Thanks!

I think I remember reading somewhere that a few years back WashU was number 2 behind harvard, but I may and probably am wrong

Note that the pre-meds at WashU are extremely competitive as students.

Quotes from students and alumni (StudentsReview.com):

That’s not to say that you shouldn’t be pre-med if you really want to do medicine.

Washington University’s medical school is “the hardest” school to get into. My son is taking the pre-med classes (chemistry, calculus, & biology so far) at Wash U, and the classes are very demanding. He questions his direction constantly. So I am not sure whether or not he will end up going to medical school. He is surrounded by pre-med undergraduates, so I think this college attracts many doctor-want-to-bees…

freshman year about 50% are pre-med, by the end it drops below 20% or so. The prereq’s are rather broad and learning all the information will make you more well rounded.
