Hi, first time applying to a boarding school here and I was wondering does anyone have any experience with Kent? I searched on the forum but couldn’t find much information. I’ve been trying to keep myself distracted but I am on edge with the deadline.
hey! sadly i do not have any experience with Kent, but I do have experience with what boarding school life is like if that helps at all.
Academics: you really should be fine, but pls pls pls do not procrastinate because the work will keep building up and up and you’ll be overwhelmed
Student life: since I have no experience with kent, I can not tell you how kids are like there, but I can tell you for a fact to always be nice to people; that’s an important one and stay positive!
Is there anything in particular that you would like to know about Kent? My friend has her two daughters at Kent. The older one is actually now at Northeastern, studying Biomedicine. The younger one is still a senior at Kent. I don’t think she’s on this CC board though, so if there’s anything you would like to ask, I can pass along the questions. Hope that helps!
I am a parent of two Kent students who really love it. Happy to answer any questions.
How is the social life?
Do you know how many PGs currently attend Kent ?
Are all PGs athletes ?
Size of senior class ?
Thank you in advance.
There are not that many PG’s-I just looked in the directory and there were fewer than 10 and I would surmise most are there for sports but you’d have to ask admissions. I believe size of senior class is about 170 but don’t quote me. Somewhere in that range for sure.
Also many seniors have repeated before they became seniors so PGs basically just mesh with the seniors-the age differences aren’t substantial.
what is the social life like? is there a party culture or do kids tend to be more academically driven?
I’d say both. It’s a medium sized school and there are lots of different kinds of kids there.
My kids have been very happy with social life–I’d say the culture of kids is very kind and especially my younger one has said how inclusive it all is. A nice perk is having town nearby–they are often walking in to grab a bite or a coffee or can celebrate a birthday at a nice dinner.
