Random q, but if you said you’d go to a school and put in a deposit, and then later backed out when finances fell through and instead chose another school, you should inform the first school you backed out, right? Instead of just ignoring the mail and housing information they’re sending?
My friend backed out in July-ish after she signed up for a housing and dining plan at her original school and doesn’t feel like calling them to tell them she’s not going anymore. Is there any reason why she has to, at this point because it’s so late?
And yes, I’m aware she’s selfish and lazy…she is, she doesn’t care that someone else could have a dream for the school and that did really bother me but that’s a whole other issue, but will she be penalized financially? She’s thinking of re-applying to the school for her junior year too.
She paid deposits and still may go if she registered for classes.
Her parents will allow her to forfeit a couple thousand of their hard earned money?
They all are foolish.
I don’t think she thinks they can “force her to pay”, she just won’t show up and pay tuition. IDK if that’ll be a problem come September…or if she will “owe them money”?
^And I know, she and her parents frequently fail to take initiative for anything.
She and her parents realized she couldn’t afford the school in July after she informed the school she’s now going to that she wasn’t going and already paid deposit for the original school, which is why she backed out. She didn’t fill out financial aid forms in time. It’s just so typical, but whatever.
