The auction of infowars was won by the Onion. As a resident of CT, I’m pleased that this is finally resolved. I hope the families get the restitution they won in court.
This is not the first time that it’s felt like The Onion displays more moral leadership than any other media organization in this country.
I am shocked The Onion could afford it. But maybe I’m just all wrong about how big Infowars is.
They were backed financially by a group of Sandy Hook parents.
My understanding is that this plan had been in motion for some time, and part of the reason the families accepted a reduction of the damages and a reduction of the valuation on InfoWars. They never wanted his money, just his megaphone.
The most disseminated Onion story is the one they repost every time there is a shooting, and thr Everytown For Gun Safety group reached out. The only advertising on the Onion-owned infowars will be for that group.
In a week with lots of discouraging news,I found this to be a bright spot.
