Initiative ideas.

Hi. I’m looking to apply to some top prep schools, and during my research, I found that to get into really selective schools, you need to show initiative. Something that makes you stand out among many applicants. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

The schools are not asking for what others think makes you initiative.

Run the admissions process yourself. Though this isn’t a prerequisite for getting into a good boarding school, it show AO’s that you are independent.

converge - I meant something that would show the admissions department that I have initiative.

What have you done (or studied) that wasn’t run by adults?

Talking about a favorite book that wasn’t read to fulfill class requirements could also work…

But honestly, reflect on yourself instead of asking others because frankly, we don’t know you as well as you.

This thread is just too ironic.

I agree, lots of hilarity on the board lately. I particularly enjoyed the mom who said she was going to have her son start a club this year so he could show leadership.
