Oh. Oh. Oh.

So sorry to hear this. My prayers are with both families.

How very very sad. My heart goes out to both families.

I am so saddened by this. What a shame. Will keep the families in my prayers.

I am very sorry to hear this.

Very sad ending. I hope everyone can eventually get past this very traumatic loss.

Momofawildchild, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. My prayers are with both families as well as with you and your son.

Oh my, this is one of the saddest things that can possibly happen, and my heart goes out to the families of both players. I will keep them all in my prayers. Life is such a fragile fragile thing. Momofwildchild, I will keep you and yours in my prayers as well. It is just heartbreaking.

I too am sorry to hear this. Much love and prayers from our family to the families and all who are grieving.

I am so sorry to hear this. My condolences to the families, and classmates

I have been very busy lately…not lurking here as much… think the last time I was here was perhaps when this thread was started… and now two weeks later, such a sad, tragic premature end to a son’s life. I am very surprised by my own gut reaction to this… I believe it was jarring because I visit this site because it is filled with all of our hopes and dreams for our children… this is where many of our aspirations take flight…can be helped aloft and / or get grounded by others input!!

Just this morning there was an obituary for a gal (mid-40’s) whose life was so full of promise…and then MS hit…and while the write up was truly a celebration of the life of this gal… the tone of the life seemed to change dramatically… and the obit made me cry… I was filled with admiration for the loving family who seemed to have adjusted, but it all serves as a reminder that we must enjoy and rejoice in our families because circumstances can change in an instant.

Condolences to everyone involved! Life will never be the same for any of them.

I have been thinking about this thread and wanted to just give a reminder to us all:

Not getting into the first choice college will not be the end of the world.
Not getting into the second choice college will not be the end of the world.

I know that when I hear about things like this young boy it makes me really appreciate what I have and I’m reminded of what is really important.

Yes, tonight we have all been reminded again of what is really important in life. My sincerest condolences to all whose lives have been touched by these dear young people.

My thoughts and prayers are with all who are grieving.

So very sad. A real reminder to cherish life.

Many prayers for the family and friends of this special young man.

From what I’ve heard and read he accomplished many great things in his short time on this earth. We could all hope to do as much.

My thoughts and prayers to the families and the communities - such a sad reminder of how fragile life is.

November 17th -Tony Paige talks to Chandler Hardwick, Head Master of the Blair Academy about the passing of Kurt Socha

maineparent; DrDrewsmom-- you really said it all. MOMofWC I am so sad about this tragedy. HUGS.

As painful as the student’s passing certainly is, it sounds like the outcome was probably best given the nature of the injury. Injuries resulting from a blow to the chin often involve brain stem injuries and the long-term prognosis for those who survive is not good.

I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child. My heart goes out to the family.
