Injured Athlete- Prayers Needed

Momofwildchild, I’m so very very sorry. My son was just moved up from JV to varsity for our division playoffs, so this hits very close to home for me. He’ll be walking in the door from practice any moment now and will be getting the biggest hug from me, even if he groans. I will keep Kurt’s family in my prayers that they’ll feel his spirit surrounding them with love in the tough times ahead.

As DrDrewsMom said, this really puts the college admissions thing in perspective, doesn’t it?

Oh, I am so sad to now be reading this followup, having not checked in since early after the injury. It’s terrible, terrible, terrible. Maineparent, you are so right…these boards are full of hopes and dreams for these young people and to lose some precious promising young man so soon and so tragically is unfathomable. It is not the way it should be. My heart aches for his family and all who knew him. I had a child who was quite injured this past year but she recovered and was able to pursue her dreams now at college and has a second chance. Why she got to make it and he didn’t, seems so unfair. No parent should ever have to go through what the Sochas are living. I’m so sorry.

Oh my, what a heartbreak. So sad to hear the outcome.

MomofWC,
Very sorry to read about this. My condolences to the Sochas for this tragedy.
